first week in bellingham

Heya!
ready to read more of my adventures? ^^
well here we go! ready! steady! set! Go!
After the last days we finally had the chance to sleep in and replenish our energy levels! much needed actually.
We took a trip to Mt. Vernon. This actually isn't a real mountain but it is called that nonetheless, can't help it ;)
We attended a lecture given by my host 'dad' about the us justice system which was super interesting. we learnt a lot about the justice system. we even had the opportunity to attend a courtroom hearing. this was pretty interesting but at the same time we all felt quite intrusive.
After the hearing we even got the chance to visit a jail. so here are people awaiting their trial. People already convicted go to prison.
The tour was pretty intense. We got to see the inmates and saw the complex from the inside. The complex was built to hold aprox. 90 people, but already 200 people were incarcerated in here. talk about over crowding...
we all thought it was super interesting although we still all had the feeling of being very intrusive of other people's privacy. like watching people in a zoo from behind a glass. there was a certain awkwardness to it, but interesting nonetheless.
We also got a small lecture about ESL and ESLA classes from foreign exchange students attending WCC which was interesting. the two students who attended bot had different backgrounds and it was cool to hear how they learn a second foreign language.
After all school stuff was done we went to Seattle and had a stop at a huge shopping mall where I bought some new shoes and got my paolo nutini on with them , you might have seen the picture ;)
after all the shopping we went to a baseball game which was absolutely super awesome.
we saw a lot of stuff that was told at the first lecture we had about baseball which was pretty cool.
Patrick and I left before the game ended ( but the mariners were winning) with Dylan, the son of my host mom and dad, and we went out with him to check out the Seattle nightlife which was absolutely booming ^^
The downside was that we both ended up with an extreme hangover, which lasted the entire dayt, at least for me.
They took us to a beautifull park and we chilled out there for a bit, the weather was absolutely stunning so we had that going for uss. Afterwards we met up with Hannah, dylan's sister, and she showed us around seattle for a few hours whereafter we took the Boltbuss back to Bellingham and checked into bed quite early.
Main reason we being quite beat
Sunday was just a general chill day. Worked n a lot of school projects and just chilled out with my family. even took the dogs out for a nice evening walk and went for icecream!! omnomnom!!
